A graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Katerina Katzen is a visual artist and photographer whose work explores memory, identity, and the delicate space between reality and fiction. Originally from Murmansk, Russia and now living in Jerusalem, she combines fine art photography, self-portraiture, and staged scenes to construct poetic visual narratives.
Her artistic practice is rooted in the use of archival materials, carefully staged scenes, and personal symbols. Through photography, Katrina reconstructs places and moments that no longer exist, weaving together landscapes, timelines, and emotional layers into new, imagined spaces of memory.
Alongside her personal work, Katrina specializes in photographing museum pieces, archaeological finds and works of art, bringing a precise and sensitive perspective to both artistic and documentary contexts. She also incorporates images created using artificial intelligence into her work, thus expanding the boundaries between traditional and contemporary visual languages.
